The museum will open for the 2016 season on April 23rd and will be open Saturdays and Sundays only, excluding holidays, until November 12-13. Hours are 1-4 PM.
(*Due to the Visitor Center and plaza construction that is in progress the museum will only able to be open to the public on weekends.)
However, special group visits can be scheduled by appointment.
Free parking is available across the street.
Photography, food and beverages are not permitted inside the museum.
Our next door neighbor Homestyle Desserts Bakery has much to tempt you – we love the apple cider donuts. The Peekskill Brewery across the street has world class microbrews served up with seasonal farm to table fare. Head up South Street to take in the panoramic view of the Hudson Valley from The Lincoln Exedra then continue on to The Peekskill Museum with its ornate architecture and rooms of artifacts dating from the Revolutionary War to today.
Find time for a visit to The Bruised Apple Bookstore which has a great collection of rare books on local history and a marvelous collection of antique maps and prints.
A trip to Peekskill is not complete without a stop at The Quiet Man and The Birdsall House. Too tired to head home, The Inn on The Hudson has been beautifully restored and is a soft place to call it a day.
